Develop Charisma and Become More Likable
Upon reaching the left auricle of the heart, it is forced in to the left ventricle, from whence it is again forced out through the arteries on its mission of life to all parts of the system. It is estimated that in a single day of twenty-four hours, 35,000 pints of blood traverse the capillaries of the lungs, the blood corpuscles passing in single file and being exposed to the oxygen of the air on both of their surfaces. When one considers the minute details of the process alluded to, he is lost in wonder and admiration at Nature's infinite care and intelligence.
Improved Elemental Affinity (Ex) The transformed elementalist gains a +4 circumstance modifier on all Charisma-based skill and Charisma ability checks when interacting with other elemental creatures and with other elementalists who are attuned to the same element. This stacks with Elemental Affinity. Abilities Same as the character, except that the transformed elementalist gains a +2 bonus to her secondary ability. For instance, a fire elementalist gains +2 to her Charisma score, an earth elementalist gains a +2 bonus to her Constitution, a air elementalist gains a +2 bonus to her Dexterity, and a water elementalist gains a +2 bonus to her Strength. Elemental Affinity Elementalists gain a +2 circumstance bonus on all Charisma-based skills and Charisma ability checks when interacting with elementals, genies, and other elemental creatures.
Leonora crossed herself twice more, gathering her courage. The santero had clearly described what she needed to do if she wanted to end the curse. She shuddered. Mr. Gonzales was a barrister as well as a santero, and his advice to her in legal matters had always been impeccable. She had never sought his services as a santero, though what use did she have for love philters and charms Her looks and her natural charisma had gotten her all the attention she could ever want. And perhaps her looks were what had gotten her in trouble this time. Some jealous woman must have caught her husband or her boyfriend making eyes at Leonora, and had fixed a hex on her. The sudden illness, the bad luck, the little accidents somebody had it in for her, and she needed protection.
What he truly wanted was to deck himself in those rich jewels and to be seen by the people of the surrounding country, so that they should be amazed and should revere him as their god or at least as their king. He knew himself to be hideous to look upon, however, and perceived that, decked with jewels, he would provoke only disgust or derision, not admiration or worship. He therefore formed another plan and resolved to bide his time. He lay in wait, and in due course took captive the maiden known as Soul of the Earth, whom he carried off to the wilderness where he dwelt. Trapped and terrified, she speedily learned that help was not at hand and that no course was now open to her, save submission.
It is the Vasana in the mind that causes attraction towards objects and brings about bondage with the disappearance of Vasanas, bondage naturally vanishes. There will not be any attraction, admiration or excitement for any object outside, if there is no Vasana inside your mind. It is the Vasana that is at the bottom of all your miseries and troubles. There is no pain from Isvara-Srishti (objects created by the Lord). Water quenches your thirst. Breeze gives you comfort. Sunshine enlivens you. Fire gives warmth. It is Jiva-Srishti that brings about bondage. Ahankara, anger, Abhimana, attachment are all Jiva-Srishtis. Have Suddha Sankalpa, but no Vasanas.
The Law of Similarity states that things that share an outward physical appearance share a common essence on a mystic level. Further, things that share a common pattern interact through that pattern, and control of the one allows manipulation of the other. Look-alikes are alike and commonality controls.
Saint-Martin only had a little success among the Elus Cohen. Whether they retained a profound admiration for the memory of the disappeared Master (which is very probable), or whether they felt it repugnant to confide in someone whom some of them perceived to be their junior, Saint-Martin failed in the bosom of the Order. The soul feels invaded little by little by a foreign personality, which imposes itself upon his attention and his love. It is similar to a disciple come to hear a famous master. A sympathetic person prepares for his coming, and gains a better understanding of the explanation of his doctrine The master then appears, and those among the audience who love him understand him best, and he reveals himself best to them. Little by little the spirit of the disciple is penetrated by this personality which invades him, until he forgets the exigencies of exterior necessities. Hanging on the lips of his master, he allows himself be absorbed in admiration, veneration, even love,...
An herbalist awakening this trait using Baird's recipe can create a magical concoction called Baird's bronze brew that imparts upon the imbiber an enormously enhanced Charisma, of all things. This awakened form of the beer actually makes the drinker more charismatic. As any die-hard pub-crawler knows, usually it's everyone else who looks better when viewed through the filter of heavy alcohol consumption. Not so with Baird's bronze brew. Anyone who drinks this beverage gains a temporary +4 Charisma score bonus for a number of hours equal to the character's original Charisma modifier, with a minimum of thirty minutes for those with a zero or a negative modifier. This only works once per night as the drinker retains residual brew in his body over the next 24 hours or so, preventing further Charisma modification.
By whom they are performed, and the victory is ascribed to each in turn. But the multitude who witness these spectacles, and who pay generously for them, are filled with fear and admiration of the sorcerers themselves, and are firmly persuaded that their contortions are due to supernatural causes.
Pan is one of the few Lodge deities that still regularly mounts worshippers, granting them +3 ST (15 points), +3 DX (30 points), +2 HT (20 points) and +1 DR (3 points). The mount gains the advantage Charisma +2 (10 points), the Lecherousness (-15 points) and Compulsive Carousing (-5 points) disadvantages, and 8 points each in the Musical Instrument Flute, Sex-Appeal and Carousing skills (24 points).
Disease, death effects, necromantic effects, and mind-influencing effects it is not subject to critical hits, subdual damage, ability damage, ability drain, or energy drain it loses its Constitution score and becomes immune to effects requiring Fortitude saves it makes Concentration checks using its Charisma modifier if a spellcaster it gains Darkvision to 60 feet it cannot die from massive damage, but is immediately destroyed when reduced to 0 hit points or less, and cannot be raised and so on.
SECRET as the occult organization has always remained, there is a good deal more to be learned concerning the philosophical views which it has preserved or acquired, than might be supposed at the first glance. As my own experience when fully described will show, the great adepts of occultism themselves have no repugnance to the dissemination of their religions philosophy So far as a world untrained as ours is in pure psychological investigation can profit by such teaching. Nor even are they unconquerably averse to the occasional manifestation of those superior powers over the forces of Nature to which their extraordinary researches have led them. The many apparently miraculous phenomena which I have witnessed through occult agency could never have been exhibited if the general rule which precludes the Brothers from the exhibition of their powers to uninitiated persons were absolute. As a general rule, indeed, the display of any occult phenomenon for the purpose of exciting the wonder...
Milton frequently expressed great admiration for Spenser as a religious and moral teacher, and we know that his early plans for the poem which he intended one day to write were that it should be on a chivalrous theme, a tale of King Arthur and his knights.3 Thirty years later, when he at last wrote the immortal poem, its hero was not Arthur but Adam. He had transposed his early enthusiasm for the chivalrous epic of Elizabethan Puritanism into the tremendous Biblical epic reflecting his enthusiasm for the Puritan Revolution. The Rosicrucian revolution had not materialised the Puritan revolution, its successor in ideology, succeeded, at least for a time. Milton devoutly believed in it and in the 'chosen' role of Englishmen,
Yet, there are many terrors on the Way to the Self, and an Abyss to cross before victory can be declared. Demons, vampires, psychic leeches, ghastly forms accost the aspiring magician from every angle, from every quarter around the circumference of the magick circle, and they must be destroyed lest they devour the magician himself. When Crowley professed to have passed the obstacles, and crossed the Abyss of Knowledge, and found his true Self, he found it was identical with the Beast of the Book of Revelation, 666, whom Christianity considers to represent the Devil. Indeed, Crowley had nothing but admiration for the Shaitan (Satan) of the so-called devil-worshipping cult of the Yezidis of Mesopotamia, knowledge of which led him to declare the lines that open this Introduction. For he saw that the Yezidis possess a Great Secret and a Great Tradition that extends far back into time, beyond the origin of the Sun cults of Osiris, Mithra and Christ even before the formation of the Judaic...
In its purest form, desire energy translates into charisma and magnetism. To cultivate desire energy we again have to focus on the sensations in our bodies and practice loving what we are feeling. This helps us contain our energy, which makes us a magnet. Being present to the peaceful Earth energy and indulging in how wonderful it feels to be at peace in our bodies is a great way to cultivate presence and power.
You will not feel abandoned or abused. You will learn to love yourself. You will be able to heal yourself. You will be able to manifest. You will develop a powerful presence and charisma. You will know what to do because you will be able to listen to your soul. You will love being alive at every moment. Your body will become your best friend.
In spite of the admiration which that extraordinary p ersonality Dion Fortune expressed for the writings of both Fox and Muldoon - some of the subjective experiences undergone by the hero of her novel Sea Priestess are clearly based on those of Muldoon - there is no doubt that the overwhelming majority of serious occultists would regard the methods advocated in them as being undesirable. Not only physically undesirable (although of course, it is apparent that there are material risks involved in subjecting one's body to a death-like trance), but spi ritually undesirable, for such uncontrolled projection without adequate protection can sometim es result in the astral traveller finding himself in one of the so-called 'astral hells', undergoing the dangers of a possible obsession by some hostile entity.
Elemental Affinity At 2nd level, the elementalist gains an affinity with elemental creatures. She receives a +2 circumstance bonus on all Charisma-based skills and Charisma ability checks when interacting with elementals, genies, and other elemental creatures. Terramancy Spells that create, give information about, transform, destroy, and control solids belong to this school. Spells from the air school of elemental magic are always prohibited to an earth elementalist. Terramancers also suffer from the social stigma that comes with playing in the dirt. When an earth elementalist casts an earth spell, the dust at his feet stirs and swirls about him they have a -2 Charisma score penalty when interacting with other humanoids. Upon finally achieving this state, the elementalist undergoes a change to his physical appearance. This is usually to the eyes and skin of the elementalist in question. An aura-mancer might have light blue skin and hair, a constant breeze about him, and flesh that is...
12) (a) Every object soever may be considered as possessed of an Astral shape , sensible to our subtle perceptions. This astral shape is to its material basis as our human character is to our physical appearance. We may imagine this astral shape e.g. we may see a jar of opium as a soft seductive woman with a cruel smile, just as we see in the face of a cunning and dishonest man the features of some animal, such as a fox. 248
Abilities For the most part the magic of the gleaner is derived from her relationship with her attendant spirits. As a result, Charisma plays an important role for the gleaner. To cast a spell, a gleaner must have a Charisma score of 10 + the spell's level. Bonus spells are based on Charisma. The DC of a save against a gleaner's spell is 10 + the spell's level + the gleaner's Charisma modifier. Wisdom is also important for a gleaner, as many of her rituals result in conflicts of will with the spirits she seeks to control.
Tact with gains a +8 Charisma score bonus for all ability and related skill checks against her. This effect may be removed by standard magical methods, such as dispel magic, restoration, limited wish, and so on. Otherwise, the emotions fostered by the wafer last for a number of days equal to 10 minus the affected creature's Charisma modifier (with negative modifiers increasing the duration).
Wo to the man who looks upon the law as a simple record of events expressed in ordinary language, for if really that is all that it contains we can frame a law much more worthy of admiration. If we are to regard the ordinary meaning of the words we need only turn to human laws and we shall often meet with a greater degree of elevation. We have only to imitate them and to frame laws after their model and example. But it is not so every word of the law contains a deep and sublime mystery. *1
I must apologise (perhaps) for the new note of frivolity in my work due doubtless to the frivolity of my subject these poems being written when I was an Advaitist and could not see why -- everything being an illusion -- there should be any particular object in doing or thinking anything. How I have found the answer will be evident from my essay on this subject. I must indeed apologise to the illustrious Shade of Robert Browning for my audacious parody in title, style, and matter of his Christmas Eve and Easter Day. The more I read it the eventual anticlimax of that wonderful poem irritated me only the more. But there is hardly any poet living or dead who so commands alike my personal affection and moral admiration. My desire to find the Truth will be my pardon with him, whose whole life was spent in admiration of Truth, though he never turned its formidable engines against the Citadel of the Almighty.
Let two men stand in a field, in presence of a splendid sunset. Let one of these be an undeveloped agricultural labourer, who has not been in the habit of observing nature save with reference to his crops, who has not been in the habit of observing nature save with reference to his crops, who has only looked at the sky to see if it promises rain or sunshine, caring nothing for its aspects save as they bear on his own livelihood and employment. Let the second be an artist, a painter of genius, full of the love of beauty, and trained to see and enjoy every shade and tone of colour. The labourer's physical, astral, and mental bodies are all in presence of that gorgeous sunset, and all the vibrations caused by it are playing upon the vehicles of his consciousness he sees different colours in the sky, and observes that there is much red, promising a fine day for the morrow, good or bad for his crops, as the case may be. This is all he gets out of it. The painter's physical, astral, and...
By constant use the idea of an I attaches itself to foreign drops of seed and blood, although the thing exists not. then why should I not conceive my fellow's body as my own self That my body is foreign to me is not hard to see. I will think of myself as a sinner, of others as oceans of virtue I will cease to live as self, and will take as my self my fellow-creatures. We love our hands and other limbs, as members of the body then why not love other living beings, as members of the universe By constant use man comes to imagine that his body, which has no self-being, is a self why then should he not conceive his self to lie in his fellows also Thus in doing service to others pride, admiration, and desire of reward find no place, for thereby we satisfy the wants of our own self. Then, as thou wouldst guard thyself against suffering and sorrow, so exercise that spirit of helpfulness and tenderness towards the world
Ferocity (Ex) At 8th level, pridemasters receive a morale bonus to all attack and damage rolls against an enemy threatening or attacking a cat. The morale bonus is equal to the pridemaster's Charisma modifier, and the bonus lasts until the end of the combat. The bonus only applies to attacks made by the pridemaster against the specific opponent actually endangering the cat. The morale bonus does not apply against the combatant's allies or companions. This ability may be used an unlimited number of times per day. Roar (Su) Once per day, the pridemaster unleashes a terrifying roar affecting everyone within a thirty-foot radius of the pridemaster. Anyone within the area of affect must make a successful Will save with a difficulty class equal to 15 + the pridemaster's Charisma modifier. Anyone failing the saving throw immediately becomes panicked for the next 10 rounds, while a successful saving throw leaves the victim shaken for the next 1d4 rounds.
Raga and Dvesha (love and hatred) are the two important emotions of the mind and all the different emotions can be classified under these two headings. Wonder is a compound emotion. It is admiration and fear combined. Reverence is a compound emotion. It is awe and respect combined. Amarsha is a compound emotion. It is anger and jealousy combined. As soon as the man is pulled down to a lower level, the anger of the inferior man who was jealous vanishes.
Advantages and Disadvantages Charisma and Voice are ideal to impress the gullible. Besides the almost-mandatory Greed, many con men have Enemies, either former victims or law enforcement agencies. Some charlatans are not complete fakes they may have a few levels of psionic power or one or two levels of Initiation, and simply exaggerate and flaunt their powers to increase their wealth and influence.
Nodding to some of her regular customers, she managed to avoid direct eye contact. She wanted to dissuade the possibility of empty commiserations as they pumped her for juicy details. Bob John was not well-liked, but he was well-known, and many would love to be the first on their blocks to have all the gory facts.
Advantages and Disadvantages A good Appearance, Charisma, Musical Ability and Voice are all common. Unfortunately, so are Lecherousness and Addictions (even if only to caffeine and nicotine). Wealth levels and Reputation run the whole gamut from Dead Broke unknowns to Multimillionaire megastars. Initiate singers who use their Spirit Warrior powers to enhance their performance are possible, but are likely to attract the attention of the Lodges and the Corruptors before long, gaining Enemies.
You gain 5 levels of Strong Will, Charisma +4 (for a total of Charisma +6), and a Spirit Ally Group of IQx2 spirits. You are almost impossible to harm or kill unless you do not resist or the attackers are powerful Initiates or supernatural beings. Normal mortals must make a Will-5 roll just to contemplate
In his heyday, One Bright Star served as guardian for the Temple of Divine Light. He played an important part in its rituals and was accorded a great deal of respect and admiration. Being at heart a vain and lazy creature, One Bright Star reveled in his position and hoped that it would last forever.
Controlled Dosage The creature touched receives a +4 enhancement bonus to Intelligence, Dexterity and Strength in addition to a +4 bonus to all Spot and Listen checks. While under the influence of opiate the target behaves in a frenetic, excited manner, barely able to restrain his actions. As a result of his impaired judgment, the subject receives a -2 penalty to Wisdom and Charisma. This version of the spell lasts for one minute per caster level.
In Albert Einstein's words (quoted in his New York Times obituary, April 19, 1955) My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble minds. That deeply emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible Universe, forms my idea of God.
Cobra's Hood Fashioned entirely from the skin of a king cobra, this intimidating suit of +3 hide armor retains the animal's most terrifying feature, its massive hood. While worn, the wearer receives a +4 bonus to all Intimidate skill checks, while receiving a -1 penalty to all other Charisma-based skill checks. The armor also imparts a +4 luck saving throw bonus against all forms of poison.
The main problem I had with most psychic experiences is that they were not very concrete. Often they were just feelings I had about situations, or a stray thoughts in my mind. I had a hard time believing in these phenomena. I found out there were other, more concrete types of psychic phenomena, such as apparitions. An apparition is the physical appearance of a nonphysical entity or object. The following is an example
Anyone or anything touching the flame is instantly covered with a glowing warmth. Objects so treated gain the flaming melee weapon special ability, which is always activated. Characters gain a +5 inherent Charisma score bonus and the Body Flames supernatural ability of a balor at will. This is a permanent effect, though it diminishes the essential flame upon application. 1 cubic inch is enough to treat a Medium-sized character completely.
After all, it was no business of mine, he muttered as he wriggled into his new tunic, to the immense admiration of the tailor, a class whose appreciation of manly beauty depends so largely upon the price of the suit. 'Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. The trouble comes when you can't lose 'em. Poor old Lisa Poor old Abdul Well, as I said, it's none of my business. My business is to divine the thoughts of the enemy, and -- oh Lord how long -- to get the powers that be to understand that I am right. Considering that they needed eight million marching men to persuade them that Bloody Bill meant war, I fear that my task may be no sinecure.
As the druid's powers progress, he sometimes deems it necessary to cease his friendship with his animal companion. The animal's reaction to the sudden termination of the relationship varies depending on the circumstances of its dismissal. Most druids attempt to palliate the animal's wounded feelings by returning it to its original homeland or finding a suitable home for a domestic animal. Ultimately, the druid's alignment determines the efforts he takes to effect an amicable separation. A good druid always endeavors to ease the animal's emotional trauma, while an evil druid often prioritizes his own convenience over the animal's needs. When the separation is complete, the druid must roll a Charisma check to determine the animal's reaction. Table 4.13 describes the results of that check.
Bard The caster gains +1 temporary hit point per caster level, + 1d4 Dexterity enhancement, +2d4 Charisma score bonus, +1 base attack bonus per three caster levels, a +4 competence bonus on all Reflex and Will saves, and proficiency with all simple weapons for the duration of the spell. The caster further
She is also going to allow Magick Mastery feats all the way up to 5 for all of them, but makes them available only to Smart, Dedicated, and Charismatic heroes as bonus feats. Another player, Erick, wants to be a master of disguise and deception, a former con artist now working for the government. He creates a Charismatic 2 Fast 1 Hero. He takes Magick Mastery (Illusion) as his bonus feat at 2nd level and Fast Talk and Evasion as his Talents. He also takes Deceptive and Creative as his first level feats and then decides that Personal Fire Arms Proficiency is probably a good idea for the 3rd level feat. Francis, on the other hand, wants to be the epitome of a good AEO Member, with a long-term goal of moving into the leadership role currently held by his uncle. His PC is a Charismatic Hero Dilettante, relying on his charm and money to get him places in the world. He takes Magick Mastery only because he cannot belong to the club without it, and boosts his spending power...
About a year after he had stopped being my student, I was asked by an international occult order to start a chapter of that order in the city where I then lived. I knew several people who would be interested and who might make good members, including this former student. Naturally, on the day before I had planned to call him I accidentally ran into him and told him about it. In a short time, he, I, and some others were working together. I soon realized that previous commitments would not allow me the time to lead the group. Because he had more latent magickal talent and charisma than other members of the group, I chose him to be my successor.
May apply the damage to other ability scores, making spellcasting even more dangerous. Point losses in Constitution will mean that a PC pushes herself toward death each time she casts a spell. Magick use could affect a PC's mental state, damage can apply to Intelligence, Charisma, or Wisdom (or all three). As always, the GM should make clear to the players how he will apply drain during character creation, as it will affect game balance. Option 3 A Practitioner has a reserve of personal Manna energy equal to her Charisma modifier plus her Wisdom modifier. This can be used to pay the manna cost for spells, but once it is gone it takes 8 hours of uninterrupted rest for the pool to regenerate. At the GM's discretion other things may increase this pool. This option is best for high magick and high fantasy settings.
Extract from the secret journal of Diego Moendova, Spanish inquisitor, after interrogating his clerk of justice After having endured the minor question, he declared that death did not concern him. It strengthens my admiration for this strange being who calls himself Ambalatee and claims to have lived in the times of our lord Jesus Christ. I now recount his disconcerting character, for 1 would admire him if he were human. Ambalatee is intent, as if he was driven by an unseen flame which gives him the power of ten lions. He is focused on all his actions to the point of obsession, and he carries out all orders to the best of his ability. He obeys a code of integrity which reminds me of the knights of olden times he often stands above young proud noblemen on the field of honor. His eyes shine with an unearthly delight when he condemns watches to burn at the stake. He is also a patron of the arts and protects artists who are devoured by the fire of their genius and he is often seen with...
It should be noted that the individuals of the Third Order, while given the privileges of holding services and ordinations, are nowhere granted control of the grove in matters of theology. Nowhere in the laws or traditions does a Third Order Druid have the right to tell someone that they are a heretic to Reformed Druidism. While a Third Order could theoretically opt to withhold services and ordinations until their parishioners agreed with her or him, such actions would be generally considered un-Druidic or at least a poor way to resolve internal disputes. I believe that the Records of the Council of Dalon Ap Landu, are firmly silent on the powers of individual Thirds to prevent any legal precedent for enforceable personality cults centered around one individual's personal beliefs. You can have a charismatic Arch-Druid, but they should have a following based on love and understanding, not on fear of organizational rules dogma. Entrusting theological issues to the total Council, would...
The Power Of Charisma
You knowthere's something about you I like. I can't put my finger on it and it's not just the fact that you will download this ebook but there's something about you that makes you attractive.
